The Education of Kia Greer

Gr 9 Up–Kiara Greer has grown up in the spotlight, thanks to her family’s reality television show. Kia is the quiet one and she could do without the constant spotlight; she feels that she brings nothing to the family show. Then at an event, Kia meets Cass, a famous teen musician. This makes Kia’s sister and her cheating husband old news; Kia’s mother encourages her to date Cass to keep the publicity train going. Kia reluctantly agrees and becomes more receptive to the ideas of cosmetic surgery, workouts, fashion coaches, and the press following her. But is her developing connection with Cass real or staged? As she tries to figure out the answer, she will also figure out who she is as a person and the life she wants.
