PreS-Gr 2—The sisters introduced in Garoche's Fox's Garden (Enchanted Lion, 2014) are back in this wordless picture book. When a bunny made of snow begins to melt, the girls take it outside and are surprised when it hops away and beckons for them to follow. One of the sisters uses a wheelchair to get around, but she, too, is able to track the bunny through the deep snow because her sister helps her when she gets stuck. Alone, neither girl would have seen the rabbit come to life, but together they are able to entertain each other and bring a bit of magic into their lives. In the end, it is the now gigantic rabbit that helps them get home safely.
VERDICT This picture book about selfless love looks as beautiful as the message behind it.
