PreS-Gr 1–Bobble-headed Tiny Bear goes on an Easter egg hunt through the meadow, observing and thanking God for animal ­families and natural wonders along the way. His hunt ends with a family picnic under a rainbow. Soft, glowing images rest on mostly pastel, pastoral backgrounds with pops of more vivid color here and there. Christian and secular symbols of spring and fresh life abound: baby animals, lilies, doves, crosses (on Easter eggs), and a rainbow. The religious ­focus of this book by ­Grover (Tiny Bear’s Christmas Prayer) is on God’s provision of new life in nature. While the rhymes don’t scan flawlessly, Tiny Bear’s wonder and gratitude are sweet lessons for littles.
VERDICT A charming book that will be in high demand for Christian families wanting an Easter read-aloud.
