The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) released reopening guidelines for schools. The checklist decision tree below shows what the organization says needs to happen to get students and staff safely back in the classrooms, including social distancing, symptom monitoring, and a plan to protect at-risk kids and employees.
The CDC notes that schools and businesses must check with state and local health officials to determine "most appropriate actions while adjusting to meet the unique needs and circumstances of the local community."

When our public middle school opens in the fall, are there any "best practices" for returned library books? Someplace I read that the recommendation was to allow books to sit for 72 hours. Seems a bit too complicated as all books will not be returned the same day/time. I envision dated boxes scattered around awaiting for book quarantine to end. Any advice or suggestions?

If you have morning and afternoon groups, there isn't enough time in between to clean. A better solution would be one group goes Monday/Tuesday, clean on Wednesday and the second group goes on Thursday/Friday.

Why dont schools implement 2 school sections, mornings and afternoons. School hours will shorter, but class sizes will be better. And at the same time will created more jobs. Could be also, elementary, and middle schoolers could go in the morning sections, even HS space could be use for them, and HS students could do the afternoon shift and use also the elementary and middle schools for them, space and small groups.
