In late July, the Hagermayer family of Point Pleasant Boro put up a mailbox library for anyone to take a book that interests them or leave a title for someone else. Much to their surprise, there was an immediate—and anonymous—complaint from a neighbor that brought the police, not readers, to their home. The family was told that libraries are not in the land-use ordinance, so it couldn't stay, according to a story on newjersey.news12.com.
