On April 10, at the Texas Library Association conference,
Capstone, a children’s books and digital products publisher, announced
PebbleGo Next,™ its newest database module for grades 3-6 that will debut this upcoming fall with a State and American Indian Studies module. Featuring articles for all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and Washington, D.C.—plus 11 American Indian culture areas with 40 distinct tribes—the module will explore the history, geography, government, people, and more. Similar to the original
PebbleGo—which was
recently selected as SLJ reader favorite—PebbleGo Next will include expertly leveled text, fully narrated by professional voice-over artists to provide essential scaffolds for struggling readers and English language learners. PebbleGo Next will employ a streamlined interface, animated highlighting, educational videos and games, and encompassing activities which teach students how to cite articles, create reports, and share what they’ve learned. The database will be available over the Internet 24/7 as an annual subscription for enrolled students. “Our customers have long been asking us for ‘the next PebbleGo’ for their researchers who have graduated into a higher reading level," said David Samuelson, General Manager of Capstone’s Library division. "PebbleGo Next will allow students to continue to grow in their research skills, while still offering all of the features which make the original PebbleGo so beloved.”
Capstone is offering a prelaunch special for qualifying purchases by September 30. Customers should contact their direct Capstone sales representative for pricing information.
