Awards season is finally upon us and, as the SLJ Book Review team puts the finishing touches on its Best Books of 2013 list, we’ve been comparing notes and keeping tabs on other reviewers’ top picks. Fan favorite and SLJ starred book, Rainbow Rowell’s Eleanor and Park (St. Martin’s Pr.), has even made Amazon’s top 10 books of the year. Amazon also selected books in several categories. The Day the Crayons Quit (Philomel) by Drew Daywalt; illustrated by Oliver Jeffers was the top pick in the picture books list. Holly Goldberg Sloan's Counting by 7s (Dial) lead the middle grade selections. And Eleanor & Park made a second appearance as Amazon's #1 young adult novel published in 2013.
