The new classroom resource lets users click through a guided lesson to get to related reference material—and allows them to search across content to find exactly what they are looking for.
Gale just released "Gale Interactive: Science." The product is designed to make it easy for instructors to integrate 3-D content into the classroom that has been contextualized and mapped to the national science curriculum. See the full press release below.
Gale Interactive: Science Now Available for Schools New product with 3D content immerses students in learning and brings science to life Farmington Hills, Mich., May 4, 2016 — Gale, a part of Cengage Learning, has launched
Gale Interactive: Science, a new digital science resource available now for schools. This new product uses innovative technology to combine Gale’s curriculum-aligned research content with interactive 3D models from partner Cyber Science 3D, to help students understand science beyond the text.
Gale Interactive: Science makes it easy for instructors to integrate 3D, digital content into the classroom that’s contextualized and mapped to the national science curriculum. It can be used for test prep, research or homework assignments (with flipped classrooms), or for in-class demonstrations. “School administrators are looking for the marriage of educational technology with quality digital content to help develop future-ready skills in their students,” said Paul Gazzolo, senior vice president and general manager for Gale. “
Gale Interactive: Science is really a complete learning solution for them as it combines reference and periodical content with interactive sessions to aid in project-based teaching and learning.” With
Gale Interactive: Science, users can review concepts with tools to zoom, rotate and explore models. Clicking through a guided lesson brings users to related reference content, and allows them to search across content to find exactly what they are looking for. Each session closes with a short assessment to help build foundational knowledge.
Gale Interactive: Science covers biology, chemistry, and earth/space science topics relevant to middle and high school curriculums. Content is correlated to Next Gen Science Standards and Common Core State Standards at the high school level. For customers with access to 3D printers,
Gale Interactive: Science also delivers sixty 3D models —everything from a human brain to a triceratops skull—which can be printed and used for learning. The product is web-based and available as an interactive 3D experience on a laptop or computer monitor.
Gale Interactive: Science is also integrated with Google Apps for Education allowing users to seamlessly login to their school’s resource using their Google Account credentials so they can easily save, share, and download Gale content with tools like, Drive, Docs, and Gmail. Through Google Classroom, instructors can link interactive content from the product for classroom assignments. The
Gale Interactive portfolio will expand this summer with the addition of two more products covering Human Anatomy and Chemistry. For more information on
