They All Saw a Cat by Brendan Wenzel

All Saw a Cat

The cat walked through the casserole,

with its grace and carelessness . . .

and the child saw heaven,

and the dog is out dmx,

and the fox saw a crow in a tree.

Yes, they all come to see me.

The cat walked up to the lemonade stand,

with its abundance of noun inflections . . .

and the fish swam out of the ocean,

and the mouse police never sleeps,

and the bee gees.

Yes, they all laughed.

The cat walked by himself,

with its decorative and sensual qualities . . .

and the bird you cannot change,

and the flea market,

and the snake saloon,

and the skunk sat on the stump,

and the worm dieth not,

and the bat saw meaning.

Yes, they all said in unison.

YES, THEY ALL COME TO MEET ME!

A CHILD CALLED IT

and A DOG‘S PURPOSE

and A FOX IN SPACE

and A FISH CALLED WANDA

and A MOUSE BIT ME

and A BEE MOVIE

and A BIRD IN THE HAND

and A FEW GOOD MEN

and A SNAKE GAME

and A SKUNK SPRAYING

and A WORMHOLE

and A BATHING APE MASK.

The cat sat on the mat,

and they all asked for you.

And the cat walked along the wall,

with its use,

then it comes to be metallica . . .

and imagine that you’re there with me?
