This fascinating curation effort moves beyond mainstream film to gather a matrix of more than 500 documentaries, selected for their ability to shift awareness and inspire action. 

All are free to view online.

All are certain to inspire discussion and critical thought around the tough issues they address, as well as how they address those tough issues.

The site currently catalogs over 1500 films and videos, with a focus on independent media.

Films For Action uses the power of film to raise awareness of important social, environmental, and media-related issues not covered by the mainstream news. Our goal is to provide citizens with the information and perspectives essential to creating a more just, sustainable, and democratic society.

In the matrix view, hover over each image for a brief description and for the length of the film.  You may also browse by subject and category and sort results by date and popularity.
