Introducing Xpress Reviews. School Library Journal will be following in the footsteps of our sister publication Library Journal and publishing select, web-only reviews. These selections will offer readers additional content—in addition to the several hundred materials reviewed in print each issue. Xpress Reviews cover titles that are newly published, leaving more room for prepublication reviews in our print issues. In each print issue, we will include a listing of all Xpress Reviews that appeared online that month. When an Xpress Review receives a star, it will be noted on our stars page (located at the very back of every SLJ issue). "Xpress Reviews will give us an opportunity to review titles that we wouldn't have been able to review because of time constraints or space issues in the print magazine. With the online reviews, we can now be more nimble and serve our audience better," says Shelley Diaz, SLJ reviews manager. The inaugural publication of the Xpress Reviews begins on Monday, April 25, in advance of the May 2016 issue.
