The texts are simple enough for early readers, and the color photos offer a realistic look at each creature. There is a rather scary picture of a crocodile trying to catch wildebeests at a water hole and a screaming standoff between a baboon and a cheetah. Each title includes a "body map" and a general map showing where the animal lives.
