PreS—Unhappy with being stuck inside on a gray rainy day, Kat decides to write a song. The melodious feline names her tune "Amazing Song to Make Things Better," and croons it until the weather clears. Inspired by her success, Kat decides to go for a walk and to use her song to brighten everyone's day. Just as she passes Turtle's house, he finds his missing sock. However, when Kat's singing isn't able to fix Bunny's broken skateboard, she begins to doubt herself. Readers need not worry, friendship and kindness save the day. The illustrations are colorful, bold, and engaging, and do a fantastic job of demonstrating the emotions of each animal character. The lyrics for Kat's song are featured as the endpapers of the book.
VERDICT An adorable story about community and lifting one another's spirts. A solid addition picture book collections.
