Originally published in 1998, this new edition is slightly revised. Davy's siblings have new names. The trim size has changed, some of the images have been slightly cropped, and an endpaper image now serves as the final illustration. Subtle editing choices make for a smoother read. But Tharrlet's watercolor depictions of this loving family with pudgy, oversized ears and their cozy den remain the same, contrasting nicely with the bitter winter outside. Reissue, 1998. Rabbit Davy knows what impresses Santa: helping one another, being kind, and sharing. After Davy divides his family's winter food supplies among some hungry woodland animals, the rabbits scrimp by until Christmas Eve--when Davy's friends arrive with food that will sustain them and provide a bountiful harvest next summer. Expressive charcoal line and watercolor pictures illustrate this satisfying story.
