PreS-K—A gentle, sweet picture book that successfully delivers a life lesson. Princess Puppy is a proper princess. She only knows how to do things a princess should do, like polishing her crown, wearing fancy dresses, taking piano lessons, and reading quietly. While she enjoys her organza-filled life, she is lonely. Luckily, Molly shows up to play. Unfortunately, Princess Puppy's version of playing is to make Molly be her servant. When the pup protests and leaves, Princess Puppy is upset. Later, she realizes that she is in the wrong and gives up her fancy dress for some good fun with Molly, like bike riding and jumping rope. Girls will adore this book, from the pink cover to the sweet illustrations of cute puppies in dresses and tiaras. Pair this with Jane O' Connor's "Fancy Nancy" books (HarperCollins) or Ford's Ballet Kitty (Boxer Bks., 2007) for an extra-girlie storytime.—Jasmine L. Precopio, Fox Chapel Area School District, Pittsburgh, PA
