Gr 3—5—This Franco-Belgian comic set in ancient Egypt features the same conventional paneling and brightly colored cartoon illustrations found in "Tintin" and "Asterix," as well as the same spirit of adventure. Papyrus is the protector of Theti-Cheri, Pharoah's daughter, and they are on an expedition to return 10 mummies to Thebes. The vengeful god Seth attempts to derail their mission by bringing the mummies to life. The dialogue is stilted and mainly expository, and the drawings lack the originality and whimsy of Tintin and Asterix, but this will circulate among fans of those comics.—Lisa Goldstein, Brooklyn Public Library, NY
