2022 In the Margins Book Awards Announced

Books by Matt de la Peña and John Lewis are among the honored titles in the 2022 In the Margins Book Awards.

The 2022 In the Margins Awards have been announced. The awards honor stories that are inclusive of "youth living a marginalized existence" and written for ages 9-21 in three categories: fiction, nonfiction, and advocacy. 

This year's winners are: 

Milo Imagines the World by Matt de la Peña, illustrated by Christian Robinson was awarded the Top Title in Fiction.

Run: Book One by John Lewis and Andrew Aydin, illustrated by L. Fury and Nate Powell was named Top Title in Nonfiction.

Adult book, The Rage of Innocence: How America Criminalizes Black Youth by Kristin Henning, won Top Title for Advocacy and Social Justice.
