What titles stand out as the greatest in literature for children and young adults?

That’s the question School Library Journal (SLJ) has posed to our readers.

Toward identifying the best books of the past 25 years, respondents are invited to make their selections via our poll.

SLJ will report the results and facilitate related conversation. Taken together with engaging the poll itself, the project is one we hope will be an enjoyable, thought-provoking experience.

This project comes at a particular time. Amid social, political upheaval and uncertainty, reviews editor Shelley Diaz views it as a kind of respite. “A space where you can get back to the heart of why many of us got into this profession,” she says.

Respondents may list entries for up to 25 titles for each category: Any Children's Book (Ages 0-12) and Any YA Book (Ages 12-18).
