Jane Goodall, Messenger of Peace

A look at Jane Goodall's forthcoming A Prayer for World Peace, made available to SLJ's readers from minedition.
goodallOn September 21, World Peace Day, Dr. Jane Goodall, the noted conservationist, founder of the Jane Goodall Institute and Roots and Shoots, and the United Nation's "Messenger of Peace" addressed that august body. Later that day, publisher Michael Neugebaurer hosted an intimate get together with industry professionals and Goodall, who spoke about her forthcoming book, A Prayer for World Peace (minedition, Nov., 2015; Gr 5 Up), illustrated by the Iranian artist Feeroozeh Golmohammadi. A video message of Jane Goodall speaking with guests at that event and an online peek of the entire text of A Prayer for World Peace have been made available for School Library Journal's readers.

The book is a beauty! Wonderful artwork and, of course, the impactful and lyrical words of Dr. Goodall. On page 42 of this electronic copy, there is a typo at the top of the page where one of Dr. Goodalls most widely known quotes is featured! I hope this can be corrected.
