Screen Shot 2017-02-04 at 4.19.44 PMThe Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) just launched its new Teen Book Finder Database.  Like the Teen Bookfinder App, the database provides recommendations from YALSA’s annual book awards and selected book and media lists going back to 1988.  Award winners were selected for young adults–ages 12 to 18–and span a broad range of reading and maturity levels.  Of course, not every title is right for every reader.

Secondary school librarians, youth services librarians and English language arts teachers are going to want to create some links to make the Database easily discoverable!

Users may search the database by keyword or browse by:

Users may create personalized lists and locate titles in nearby libraries via WorldCat.  The plan is that new Database will serve as the new, dedicated space for YALSA’s selected book and media lists.  All lists currently found on YALSA’s Book Awards & Book/Media Lists page will eventually be be redirected to the database.

This free resource is funded by the Dollar General Literacy Foundation.  Like its older sister, the Teen Bookfinder App, the Teen Book Finder Database will be updated every year following the announcements of Youth Media Awards. YALSA encourages users to submit feedback using this online form.
